Enhancing Trauma Treatment presents Arne Hofmann PhD. – EMDR Therapy for Depression
Research and clinical practice over the past years have shown that EMDR therapy offers promising results for patients with depression. This webinar will provide clinicians with the latest evidence and practical tools to apply EMDR effectively in their work.
Key topics include:
- Findings from randomized controlled trials confirming EMDR’s effectiveness in depression.
- The EMDR DeprEnd protocol – an evidence-based, step-by-step approach tailored to depressive patients.
Learning objectives
By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Summarize the latest insights into EMDR therapy for depression.
- Create treatment plans that incorporate compensation zones.
- Apply the six steps of the EMDR DeprEnd protocol.
- Use EMDR to process episode triggers, belief systems, and depressive states.
Evidence base
Nine randomized controlled trials and several meta-analyses have investigated EMDR therapy for depression. Results show EMDR is at least as effective as cognitive behavioral therapy, with recent evidence suggesting higher rates of full remission (Yan et al., 2022).
The webinar is intended for therapists who have completed the EMDR Basic Training.
