Masterclass Emotional Freedom Techniques for Clinicians: Research, Clinical Application, and Integration

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often referred to as "tapping," is an evidence-informed intervention that has been studied for anxiety, trauma, stress-related concerns, and emotional regulation. Although EFT is increasingly being used by clinicians around the world, many mental health professionals still have questions about its research base, proposed mechanisms of action, and how it fits within trauma-informed practice.

This masterclass is designed for clinicians and helping professionals who are curious about EFT and want a clinically grounded introduction to the approach. Participants will explore the current research, examine proposed explanations for EFT outcomes, and consider how EFT may be incorporated into professional mental health practice.

A recorded clinical session and/or clinical demonstrations will be used to highlight key therapeutic processes, clinical decision-making, and the practical realities of working with EFT in a therapeutic context. Participants will gain insight into how experienced practitioners move beyond simply learning a tapping sequence and apply EFT within a broader clinical framework.

This masterclass serves as an introduction to the full-day workshop, where participants will learn the EFT Basic Recipe, explore clinical applications in greater depth, and develop a practical framework for integrating EFT into trauma-informed clinical practice.

What to expect:

  • An overview of the current EFT research literature
  • Discussion of proposed mechanisms that may contribute to EFT outcomes
  • Exploration of EFT within a trauma-informed clinical framework
  • Observation and discussion of a clinical EFT demonstration or recorded session
  • Examination of common questions, concerns, and misconceptions regarding EFT
  • Discussion of what distinguishes EFT as a clinical intervention from its use in coaching, self-help, and non-clinical settings
  • An introduction to the clinical integration framework explored in greater depth during the full-day workshop
